ABOUT

 

Kenneth Tindall is regarded as one of the outstanding dance-makers of his generation. He is a freelance choreographer/director and Resident Choreographer Northern Ballet. A former principal dancer, Kenneth's first professional commission won the Production Prize at the 26th International Choreographic Competition in Hanover. He has since gone on to choreograph nationally and internationally, working with Ballet, dance and theatre companies world wide. 

 

He has been nominated for several high profile awards including Best Classical Choreographer and Emerging Artist at the National Dance Awards and his continuing artistic practice has developed into Creative Direction for dance on screen, including full length live captures for cinema broadcast. 

As a Choreographer, Director, Producer or Creative Director Kenneth has a catalogue of over 30 works and has achieved considerable critical acclaim in his multi disciplinary creative career.

Nomination and Honours 

  • Outstanding Achievement in a new Dance Production at the Broadway World UK Awards 2017.

  • Best Classical Choreography at the National Dance Awards for the second time in his career in 2018

  • Audience Award at the 2019 Genesis Choreographic competition for Milwaukee ballet.

  • Guest judge at English National Ballet’s Emerging dancer competition.2020.

  • BBC Young Dancer television series as judge, mentor and choreographer. 2017 & 2019

  • Critics’ Circle National dance awards nomination for ‘Best Classical Choreography’ for his full length ballet Geisha 

  • Critics' Circle National Dance awrdsone act ballet The Shape of Sound.

  • Dance UK Future Arts Cultural Leaders Mentoring programme, 2014/15

  • Artistic and Steering Committee for the Leeds 2023 bid, towards European Capital of Culture.
